Bristow is partnering with engineering company Nova Systems to deliver next generation mission system and aircraft modification solutions on AW139 helicopters used by the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard (DCCG) for search and rescue (SAR) operations.

Nova Systems has been contracted to supply turnkey solutions including: mission system selection, design and architecting, complex procurement, production and design modification and certification. The contract also covers systems level operator and engineering training, systems level documentation, installation support, flight testing, and through-life mission system support.

The engineering company said its solution incorporates leading-edge technologies and operator interfaces that will expand Bristow’s SAR capabilities, which will be delivered in “a compressed timeframe”.

Gareth Dyer, MD, Nova Systems International said: “This collaboration creates a foundation for high performance and success, providing the DCCG with the most advanced tools to deliver maritime safety and security.” The low-risk delivery solution will support Bristow’s contractual entry into service requirements, he added.

“The signature of the DCCG contract is a significant milestone for Nova Systems and is underpinned by our ability to leverage our impressive cross-business capability portfolio to develop bespoke solutions that exactly meet operational requirements,” said Dwyer.

Nova Systems’ bespoke airborne mission system solutions can be used across all OEMs and equipment, it confirmed.
