First AW189s enter service in UAE

Falcon Aviation Services has taken delivery of the first two AgustaWestland AW189 helicopters in the UAE.

The aircraft will be operated in support of the offshore oil & gas industry.

The delivery was marked by a ceremony at the Marina Mall Helipad in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Bin Khalifa.

His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Bin Khalifa, chairman of Falcon Aviation Services said: “It is a beginning of a new era for Falcon. With the modernization of our helicopter fleet we set a higher standard for offshore operations in the region.”

Falcon Aviation Services ordered the AW189 in October 2014, the company operates a fleet of AgustaWestland helicopters, including the Grand and GrandNew rotorcraft and will shortly be taking delivery of the AW169.
