Airbus Helicopters AS365 N3+

Miami Valley Hospital CareFlight in Dayton, Ohio begins service with a new Airbus Helicopters AS365 Dauphin N3+ aircraft.

Candy Skidmore, premier health vice president, Emergency, Trauma, and CareFlight said: “We have a lot of confidence in the Dauphin. We’ve been operating Dauphins for 25 years and we’ve had good reliability.”

The AS365 N3+ was completed with an air medical transport equipment package by Metro Aviation, of Shreveport, Louisiana.

Skidmore added: “We are really excited to get our new aircraft. We went back and looked at other aircraft again, all the usual suspects, before selecting the Dauphin. The speed is very important to us and we like the 4-axis autopilot system to reduce the pilot’s workload. I also like the safety of the Fenestron, as opposed to the open tail rotor. Anything we can do to enhance safety is a plus.”
