Unmanned helicopter start-up UAVOS will be demonstrating its unmanned helicopter at Aero India Show 2019 this week.

The aircraft – the UVH-170E – is specially adapted for flying in a tropical climate and is equipped with modified payload for outside of direct radio coverage.

The helicopter is designed to fulfil law-enforcement and civil missions, including search and rescue, intelligence operations and anti-terrorist operations. It is also designed to work in high mountain conditions, in hot and tropical climates with sudden temperature changes.

The helicopter has already undergone test flights in tropical climates. A video of the aircraft flight can be viewed here.

Aliaksei Stratsilatau, UAVOS lead developer said: “Asia is a dynamically developing market that feels an increasing need of modern, high-quality and reliable unmanned equipment to solve a wide range of tasks. We expect that a tropical version of modified unmanned helicopter with improved operational capabilities will be in great demand among our potential customers in the Asian region.”

Early specifications for the unmanned helicopter show a maximum take-off weight of 41kg, a fuselage length of 129 inches and the ability to operate in a temperature range of -35C to 50C. It has a top speed of 120km/h.

UAVOS is a Silicon-Valley based company with an office in Switzerland and produces several small-scale vertical take-off and landing UAVs and fixed-wing UAVs.

Aero India Show 2019 will be held from 20 February to 24 February in Bengaluru, India.
