FBO and hangar facility anWeston Aviation will support NHV Group at Cork Airport, in Ireland, where the operator will begin a new contract with PSE Kinsale Energy.

NHV will help with decommissioning operations on the Stena Spey drilling rig, in the Celtic Sea, about 30 miles (50 km) off the south coast of Cork. Flights are expected to start in April 2021 for six to eight months.

NHV will complete trips with one AW139 Helicopter from the Weston Aviation FBO and Hangar facility.

Nick Weston, CEO of Weston Aviation said, “This is excellent news for the Cork Airport which has been instrumental in working with us and NHV as we hopefully start to rebuild in 2021”.

Lars Skov, MD, NHV Denmark said, “One of our largest challenges was the reduced timeline, which was less than one month and Weston Aviation and Cork Airport have really shown their agility and flexibility to accommodate this success factor for us to start up.”

Earlier this month, NHV announced it had won an 18-month offshore contract with Neptune Energy Aberdeen. It also won a contract to provide maintenance for three H145s to the Bundeswehr  [German armed forces] for training.
