AgustaWestland Aviation Services to expand in the Middle East

The AgustaWestland and Abu Dhabi Aviation joint venture, AgustaWestland Aviation Services (AWAS) is expecting continued regional growth in the helicopter fleets in the Middle East.

The joint venture company is expanding its support services to the region’s helicopter fleets.

These plans include the completion of the introduction of helicopter MRO and logistics services; expansion of MRO services for a range of components, including a range of AW139 main rotor items by the second half of this year; and the introduction of capabilities to support the latest additions to the AgustaWestland product range, the AW189 and AW169.

Launched in late 2011, AWAS became operational in 2013 and has been steadily growing support for the more than 200 AgustaWestland helicopters based in the Middle East.
