The helicopter training centre run by CAE in Norway has been awarded as an Airbus Helicopters approved simulation centre for H225 recurrent training. To maintain this approval going forward, CAE must adhere to a schedule of audits and regular monitoring. CAE is the first independent simulation training provider to receive this distinction.

Nick Leontidis, group president of civil aviation training solutions at CAE, said: “It is an honour to be the first independent simulation training provider to receive Airbus Helicopters simulation centre approval. This approval reaffirms our dedication to provide high-quality training to the H225 market.”

Matthieu Louvot, Airbus Helicopters senior vice president of support and services, added: “The approval of this simulation centre in conjunction with CAE highlights our strategy of providing the support and services our customers need to carry out such demanding missions. The H225 program meets our high standards, leverages the safest and most innovative technologies, and is close to our customers’ bases of operation.”

The CAE simulation centre is located adjacent to Gardermoen Airport in Oslo. It offers initial and recurrent training as well as mission specific training for offshore, SAR and military operating profiles. The new Airbus Helicopters approval only covers the recurrent training.
