The AW169 has been designed to meet the critical and unique needs of airborne law enforcement missions and incorporates next-generation technologies into the rotor system, engines, avionics, transmission, and electrical power generation and distribution systems.

The AW169 is on schedule to achieve civil certification in mid-2014 with production also commencing in 2014. The AW169 is the latest AgustaWestland aircraft to be manufactured in the United States, at the Philadelphia assembly facility.
