This should increase the capabilities of the aircraft and allow it to operate single pilot under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).

Leon Silva, director of S-76 helicopter programmes, said: “This certification provides our customers with innovative software that will improve their in-flight experience. This software will provide the operators with enhanced safety capabilities and an even more reliable aircraft.”

Over 800 Sikorsky S-76 helicopters have been delivered.
