Indian government tourism website to sell Pawan Hans flight tickets
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and air operator Pawan Hans have partnered to allow flight passengers to book tickets through the IRCTC website. The two organisations are both owned by the Indian Government, through the Railway and Aviation Ministries.
Within the last month Pawan Hans has also announced a partnership with Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) to set up four regional helicopter maintenance centres around India. Bangalore-based HAL is also owned by the Indian government.
The vast majority of the headline sales figure in Pawan Hans financial accounts consisted of contracts with Indian Government organisations, including offshore supply flights for the Oil and National Gas Company, law enforcement operations for the border security force and state government VIP flights.
