Aeronautical engine and components company ITP Aero has won a Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) appointment as a Designated Overhaul Facility (DOF) for the maintenance, repair and overhaul of PW200 engines at ITP Aero’s facilities in Albacete, southeastern Spain.

“We are delighted to reinforce our role as part of the Pratt & Whitney Canada in service engine community,” said Pablo Fuentes, head of In Service Support in ITP Aero. “As an independent company, this is a great opportunity for us and adds to our long-standing relationship with Pratt & Whitney Canada.”

Describing the appointment as an important milestone for ITP Aero, Fuentes said his company shared strong synergies with P&WC. “As we look at future programmes, we believe there is great potential to further build on our shared capabilities.

Claiming to be the world’s ninth largest aircraft engine and components manufacturing company, ITP Aero focuses on research and development, manufacturing, assembly and testing of aircraft engines, as well as MRO services for a wide range of aerospace customers.

The PW200 engine powers the new generation of light-twin helicopters having captured a majority share of worldwide sales, said the company. The engine is used in a variety of missions including emergency medical services (EMS), security and defence, utility, business transport and other operations.
