San Diego police gets new Bell 407GX helicopter

San Diego County Sheriff’s department accepted delivery of a new Bell 407GX helicoper, which will be used for patrol, search and rescue and firefighting

The new helicopter features a glass cockpit and has other systems that enhance its capabilities, including new night-vision and heat-seeking infrared cameras.

It can reach carry up to six passengers on board and reach speeds of 259 kph. The Bell 407GX is an enhanced version of the Bell 407 and features an integrated Garmin G1000H flight deck.
