SAS wins Luxembourg maintenance contract

Specialist Aviation Services (SAS) has announced that it has signed a
contract with Luxembourg Air Rescue for the maintenance of the entire fleet of
helicopters.

Five MD902 Explorer helicopters are operated by the Luxembourg Air
Rescue and included in the contract will be the maintenance of a sixth operated
by the Luxembourg
police.

Line maintenance will be performed at the LAR facilities, whilst annual
and other inspections will be done at SAS main base at Gloucestershire
Airport and at SAS’ Belgium based
company ESC, which also acts as a main distribution centre for MD Helicopter
spares.

Laurent Saeul, LAR’s chief operations officer said “We have selected SAS
because of their extensive experience in maintaining MD902s, the specialised
repairs they can carry out, the fast turnaround of the inspections and their
large spares holding.”

Specialist Aviation Services are now responsible for maintenance of over
25 MD902 Explorers. The Group is responsible for maintenance of over 40
aircraft and helicopters.
