Sharon Desfor elected ASA International President

Sharon Desfor, president of HeliValue$, has been elected international president of the American Society of Appraisers (ASA). This is the association’s highest position.

Desfor started appraising helicopters in 1984 and joined the association in early 2005. She earned her ASA designation as Accredited Senior Appraiser in the MTS Aircraft Specialty by December.

She served six years on the Machinery and Technical Specialties (MTS) Discipline Committee. This included two years as editor of the MTS Journal and one as production manager of MTS’ Valuing Machinery and Equipment book (Third Edition). Desfor was also MTS Governor for four years with stints on the Strategic Planning Committee and the Budget and Finance Committee. She was elected International Secretary and Treasurer in 2015, serving that year as Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and the Investment Committee. She followed the next year as International Vice Chairman, serving as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and the International Conference Committee.

Desfor has also spent a lot of time selling helicopters as an asset class to investors, financiers and lessors.
