Sikorsky delivers first S-76D helicopter into China

Sikorsky delivers the first S-76D helicopter to a Chinese company, the Yunnan Jingcheng Group.

The Yunnan Jingcheng Group has taken delivery of the first Sikorsky S-76D helicopter to be delivered into China. The aircraft is configured for transportation of corporate and government VIPs.

Sikorsky received a CAAC type certificate for the Sikorsky S-76D, allowing the company to begin deliveries of the new helicopter into China.

Jingcheng also flies a Sikorsky S-92 helicopter for use in transporting corporate and government VIPs.

In September 2013, a second S-92 aircraft was purchased by Jingcheng with delivery expected in November 2015.

Sikorsky now has around 40 Sikorsky S-76 helicopters in operation in China.

Sikorsky and Changhe Aircraft Industries Corp. signed an agreement for Changhe to produce S-76D helicopter cabins for the American based company.
