Sino-US becomes exclusive Leonardo China distributor with 17 helicopter order

Sino-US Intercontinental Helicopter Investment has become the exclusive China distributor for the Leonardo helicopter range.

The deal was signed at the 2017 Paris Air Show, alongside an order for 17 helicopters.

The order includes 2 AW119Kx single engine, 10 AW109 Trekker light twin and 5 AW139s.

Under the terms of the distributor deal Sino-US will look after all China, Hong Kong and Macao sales into the civil, commercial and offshore helicopter markets. The deal will later be expanded to cover all Leonardo sales in China.

Another part of the deal will see the two companies jointly set up a Leonardo completion center within the country.

Sino-US has so far placed orders for almost 100 helicopters. It has also set up one of the largest EMS services across China.
