Sky Aviation is first civilian operator of the CH-46E Sea Knight

Sky Aviation has become the first civilian owner and operator of a Boeing Vertol CH-46E Sea Knight. The company specialises in firefighting, aerial survey, search and rescue, external load and heavylift operations.

The company began in March 2014 when they bought four airframes from the GSA auction. Sky Aviation operates theĀ  Boeing Vertol CH-46E Sea Knight, Bell UH-1 Huey, Bell 206 Long Rangers and Jet Rangers in their helicopter division.

Sky Aviation received the completed Type Certificate in July 2015 and also has an approved training and maintenance programs.

The helicopter is entering the medium to heavy lift sector, with modifications that include bubble windows for both pilots, cockpit controlled hook and bambi bucket controls and load cell.

The CH-46E Sea Knight is fully outfitted and carded with the US Forest Service and the helicopter is ready to start firefighting duties.
