Østnes Aero receives Part 145 certification
Norwegian operator, Østnes Aero, has been officially approved as a Part 145 organisation by the Norwegian Civil Aviation Administration and will now provide technical support with an initial focus on AS350 and H125 helicopters. The company said the effort to achieve certification was a big milestone for Østnes and had taken many months.
Østnes Aero, maintenance and technical manager, Karl Andreassen, said: “Our technical team at Eggemoen will provide you with top of the line technical support by email or phone and through physical inspections. Initially our main focus with regards to performing maintenance, will be base maintenance for AS350 / H125, with firm plans to cover more Airbus helicopter types. As of July 3rd our Part 145 is approved from the local CAA and we would be more than happy to provide your organisation with an offer based on your needs.”
Østnes has recruited two new technicians to its Eggemoen operations base in eastern Norway to assist Andreassen with the new Part 145 workload. Tomas Blom has 30 years’ experience in the industry, both civil and military on SAR helicopters in the Swedish Armed Forces. Blom has been certifying staff in Walthers Flygservice, Helicraft Nordflyg and Bromma Airmantenance. He has extensive experience with both Bell Helicopters and Airbus Helicopters. Blom has also been a pilot since 2010 and, according to Østnes, has used his private licence to perform check flights for his customers.
Tomasz Jurczuk joined at the beginning of June, beginning his Østnes career with a trip from his mother country, Poland, to the Airbus training facilities in Marignane in southern France, where he completed the type rating course for H125 airframe and engine. Jurczuk has an engineering degree with specialisation in avionics from The University of Technology in Rzeszów in southeastern Poland and has 10 years’ experience working with maintenance of both fixed wing and rotor wing. For the past five years he has been in Dubai, mainly working on, helicopters that provide offshore transfer.
