Another baby has been born onboard a helicopter operated by Fishtail Air in Nepal.

The baby was born onboard a Eurocopter AS350 B2 while flying from the Solukhumbu to Kathmandu.

Fishtail Air specialises in providing helicopter charter and carrying out rescue missions. This is the third time a mother has given birth onboard a Fishtail Air helicopter in less than three years.

The Nepalese helicopter operator previously experienced onboard deliveries in February 2011 and again in December 2012, when a mother gave birth to a baby boy just before the Eurocopter AS350 B3 helicopter touched down at Kathmandu.

The third delivery occurred on 26 September 2013; the struggling mother was flown in a 9N AKA (B2) Fishtail helicopter by Captain Yogendra Mukhiya from Solukhumbu to the Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu, where she gave birth before landing.

It is unknown whether the mother gave birth to a boy or a girl, but both mother and the new born baby are healthy and arrived safely at the Kathmand hospital.
