EHA signs joint industry declaration in support of digitalisation
The European Helicopter Association (EHA) has signed a joint industry declaration to support the digitalisation of European aviation.
The declaration will see European civil aviation groups look to maximise the potential of digitalisation by investing in the future of the Single European Sky ATM research project (SESAR).
Jaime Arqué, chairman of EHA said: “EHA fully supports the European Commission’s holistic approach for a Digital European Sky aimed at innovation, business growth and improved services for the citizens. The rotorcraft sector is endeavouring to make this happen and at the same time calls for the political forces involved to address ways to maximize integration of all aviation capabilities”
Seven associations from the European civil aviation sector have signed the declaration so far: Airlines for Europe, CANSO, Airports Council International, EBAA, ASD Europe, IATA, and the EHA.
“Digitalisation is widely recognised today as a driving force behind innovative solutions, business growth and improved wellbeing for citizens,” the declaration reads. “We in the aviation industry are proud of our pioneering spirit and believe that the digital transformation of Europe’s skies is our next frontier.”
The key European aviation stakeholders all act in service of the EU’s Single European Sky and Aviation Strategy (SESAR). The groups will co-invest in the sucessor to the SESAR 2020 programme in support of a “single, safe and secure Digital European Sky, that will allow Europe to maintain global leadership in this digital future”.
