CHC, Milestone start 12-year fire and emergency contract in Western Australia
CHC Helicopter has won a new 12-year contract with Western Australia’s Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES). It will provide 24 hour emergency helicopter services with three AW139s.
Milestone is leasing the three AW139s which replace Bell 412s.
“We are honoured to be awarded this contract. This award reinforces the strong partnership with DFES, established over the past 19 years,” said Vince D’Rozario, regional director, CHC Asia Pacific. “Our specialist teams have worked tirelessly, diligently and with great pride to ensure the highest standards of service and the delivery of a safe and reliable operation.”
CHC says the AW139s can fly 75% further and cruise 16% faster that the Bell 412s.
“We are delighted to further strengthen our partnership with CHC with the finance and lease of three AW139 helicopters,” said Michael York, head of emerging markets, Milestone Aviation. “Milestone’s experienced team worked closely with CHC to bring this transaction to a successful close and we are proud to be part of the solution to deliver modern emergency rescue helicopters for the people of Western Australia.”
