Enstrom Helicopter Corporation has appointed Aero Facility Co as its first sales representative in Japan. Aero Facility was a long time representative of the previous Enstrom company, before it went into Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and supported the Japan Ground Self Defence Force’s fleet of TH-480B training helicopters.

The appointment was an easy decision, said Enstrom’s vice president of Sales & Marketing, Dennis Martin. “Our number one priority is supporting the existing fleet,” said Martin. “Aero Facility has done a fantastic job keeping our customers in Japan flying, and we knew we had to get them on a contract right away so that they could continue that support.”

Aero facility already has parts on order. Doug Smith Enstrom’s vice president of Product Support said: “They are a consistent leader in parts sales. They have shown Enstrom a lot of loyalty, and we are pleased to be able to return that.”

Enstrom Helicopter Corporation was founded in 1959 and manufacturers a range piston-powered and larger turbine-powered aircraft.

The Enstrom Helicopter Corporation was acquired by music entrepreneur Chuck Surack, founder of the online music retailer Surack Enterprises, for an undisclosed sum, earlier this year.

Surack has pledged to “rebuild the Enstrom brand into one of the leading American-made helicopter manufacturers, as it once was”.
