Italian Coast Guard tops up AW139 order

The Italian Coast Guard has increased its 2014 AugustaWestland AW139 order, by adding an additional two frames.

The order signing coincided with delivery of the latest three AW139s to the Italian Coast Guard.

As well as firm orders for two helicopters, the package includes support & training, as well as options for a further four helicopters.

The Government agency says that it will use the helicopters for maritime patrol and search & rescue missions.

AugustaWestland won the original order following a tender placed by the Italian Government in August 2014.
