Textron announced financial results for the second quarter of 2025 wherein it reported revenue from its Bell segment at $1bn, up 28% year-over-year compared  with the same period last year owing to better contributions from defence programmes and commercial revenues due to the mix of aircraft sold.

The company delivered 32 commercial helicopters in the quarter, flat compared with last year’s second quarter.

“In the quarter, we saw revenue growth in both our commercial aircraft and helicopter businesses, as well as in Bell’s FLRAA programme, now known as the MV-75,” said Textron chairman and CEO Scott C Donnelly.

While revenues were up slightly, the company said that its bell segment profit declined by $2m on absolute basis to $80m.

“Bell margins of 7.9% [-240 bps yoy] vs est/cons 10.1%/9.2% on higher R&D, offset by higher vol and mix,” said Jefferies in its note.

On a cumulative basis, during the first half of 2025, Bell revenues saw significant improvement of 31.4% YoY $2bn. Higher topline growth on a cumulative basis translated into better segment profits of $170m – an increase of $8m in absolute terms.
