Australian Helicopters orders six AW139s
Australian Helicopters signs deal for six AgustaWestland AW139 for EMS.
Australian Helicopters has ordered six AW139 helicopters from AgustaWestland, which will be operated for Ambulance Victoria under a 10 year agreement to perform emergency medical service (EMS) missions.
The aircraft, which are expected to enter service in January 2016, will be based at Essendon, Bendigo, Latrobe Valley and Warrnambool airports. The new fleet will replace Ambulance Victoria’s present five helicopters.
Australian Helicopters is part of the Avincis Group, which provides helicopter support for Emergency Medical Service, Search and Rescue, surveillance operations, law enforcement, aerial work and Marine Pilot Transfer.
