Airbus delivers H125 to TransCanada

Airbus has delivered an H125 to Toronto energy firm TransCanada PipeLines.

TransCanada PipeLines builds and maintains a 91,500 km network of gas pipelines, which supplies more than 25% of the natural gas used across North America.

The H125 is the second in TransCanada’s fleet and will be the first aircraft to fly missions in the Canadian market. It will operate pipeline support and surveillance missions.

“The H125 is a natural fit for TransCanada PipeLines’ mission requirements,” said Tim Olson, director of aviation at TransCanada PipeLines. “This new aircraft will be a genuine asset for our current operations, with its built-in manoeuvrability and enhanced safety features.”

The new helicopter will be outfitted with a number of supplemental type certificates including cargo pods and mirrors.
