Colin Harris of Starspeed

Colin Harris has joined UK operator Starspeed’s operations team.

Harris has 25 years experience with helicopters. He started his career in 1989 with Alan Mann Helicopters, Colin spent the first few years working on the ramp before moving into flight operations in 1995.

In 2010 Harris moved to run the flight operations department for a private Owner operating two Agusta A109s.

Starspeed earlier this month added two GL3 Portable Approach Path Indicators from Bauertech, this equipment is a key safety aid for pilots landing on improvised landing sites, such as open fields or lawns at country houses or hotels.

Starspeed is Europe’s largest helicopter management, charter and training company. The company has two bases, at Fairoaks, Surrey and at Kemble, Gloucestershire. It operates 15 helicopters including Sikorsky S-92, S76, Airbus Helicopters EC155, EC145, EC135, AS365, AS355 and the Bell 429.
