Latin America air mobility specialist Omni Helicopters International (OHI) has revealed leadership changes at its Brazilian affiliate Omni Táxi Aéreo. Roberto Coimbra will step down as CEO of Omni Táxi Aéreo to become board director at the OHI Group. Paulo Couto will become the new CEO.

In his new role as board director Coimbra will contribute to the company’s continued expansion. He will also lead Omni Unmanned, with the aim of developing it into a global leader in innovative Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) solutions.

Jeremy Akel, CEO OHI Group said: “Under Roberto Coimbra’s leadership, Omni Táxi Aéreo has grown from a single aircraft in 2001 to an impressive fleet of approximately 80 aircraft today.” The group remains focused on enhancing air mobility solutions, expanding its customer base, and maintaining industry-leading safety standards, all while adopting next-generation technologies to drive future growth, he added.

OHI operates OHI Unmanned, a specialist division focusing on unmanned aerial vehicles services and a premium advanced air mobility (AAM) solution provider called Revo.

The new CEO of Omni Táxi Aéreo was previously OHI Group’s chief transformation officer. Backed by more than 25 years of experience in business transformation and strategic leadership in a range of industries, Couto holds an MBA from Harvard Business School (USA) and a BSc in Production Engineering from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).

“With Paulo Couto´s extensive experience in managing large organisations and high-performance teams he will undoubtedly contribute to our growth strategy whilst maintaining industry leading safety standards,” said Akel.

OHI serves offshore energy markets through its subsidiaries Omni Taxi Aéreo in Brazil, Omni Helicopters Guyana Inc., and Omni Helicopters International Mozambique. It’s range of missions include: crew change, emergency medical services (EMS), firefighting and search and rescue operations. It also offers cargo and utility services in remote and challenging locations.

Meanwhile, last month Omni Helicopters International received an Airbus H175 super-medium helicopter (similar to the one pictured below) on lease from GDHF. The new aircraft will  operate as part of OHI’s fleet, flying offshore transportation operations in Latin America.
