NHV is introducing new H160s over the coming weeks.

NHV Group is boosting its offshore operations with the introduction of two new Airbus H160 helicopters leased from GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF) – the company planning to acquire the operator. The aircraft will be configured for oil and gas and offshore wind crew change operations.

The H160s will become available across the North Sea and Baltic Sea regions over the coming weeks – with the first commercial flights scheduled for May 2026. Operating initially from Den Helder in the Netherlands, later the aircraft will operate, depending on mission requirements, from NHV’s bases in Denmark, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium with the UK to follow.

Introducing the H160s represents an important objective for NHV, said CEO Lars-Henrik Thorngreen. “It underlines our commitment to building a modern, efficient and resilient fleet that can support the evolving needs of our customers. As we add the H160 to our medium helicopter fleet, we strengthen our operational offering and create new opportunities to support NHV’s continued growth in Europe and Africa.”

Lessor GDHF, which revealed its plan to acquire NHV in December 2025, welcomed the opportunity to support NHV with the introduction of two Airbus H160 helicopters into its fleet. “NHV is a highly respected operator with a strong track record in offshore operations, and the H160 is ideally suited to meet the evolving requirements of its customers,” said CEO Michael York. “This transaction reflects GDHF’s focus on placing new technology, multi mission helicopters with leading operators through flexible leasing solutions”.

Airbus Helicopters claimed the  next-generation H160 redefines the standards of safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort for the most demanding offshore missions. “Its arrival in the European offshore energy market is a pivotal moment; by integrating this advanced technology, GDHF and NHV are raising the benchmark for modern fleet operations across the region,” said Régis Magnac, the manufacturer’s  head of Energy, Leasing and Global Accounts . “Airbus is fully committed to supporting NHV’s growth as they lead the way with the H160.”

Both Thorngreen and York will be speaking at our Helicopter Investor London 2026 conference between June 16th-17th. More details here.
