Ambulance Victoria's first AgustaWestland AW139

AgustaWestland has delivered the first AW139 helicopter in EMS configuration for Ambulance Victoria where they will be operated by Australian Helicopters.

The fleet of six helicopters will soon start to replace the existing Ambulance Victoria helicopters with the transition being completed in early 2016.

John Boag, Australian Helicopters managing director, says: “The internal dimensions of the AW139 makes them the best choice for primary and secondary EMS applications and the perfect choice fortheir contract with Ambulance Victoria. The AW139 are faster, can travel longer distances withoutrefueling and utilise state-of-the-art avionic technology.”

“We look forward to our partnership with AgustaWestland in supplying the six new helicopters to assist us to support the Victorian community through Ambulance Victoria and the Victorian Government over the next decade,” adds Boag.
