Uber Elevate has added a sixth company to its network of aircraft OEM partners  – Jaunt Air Mobility.

After announcing the initial five OEM partners at the first Uber Elevate Summit in 2017 and then the announcement that Karem Aircraft would be joining the ranks last year — VTOL start-up Jaunt Air has been revealed as the latest OEM partner.

Along with the announcement, the company also revealed a concept for the aircraft,

Mark Moore, Uber Elevate’s Director of Engineering said: “Jaunt Air Mobility has assembled a highly talented team of experienced engineers with a long history of designing and certifying eVTOL vehicles,” said

“Martin Peryea, Jaunt’s Chief Technology Officer, has led many helicopter development programs as a chief engineer and brings invaluable insights to developing low-noise, reliable, and safe aircraft. I look forward to seeing what our teams accomplish together as we aim to accelerate Jaunt’s commercialization efforts.”

The partnership was teased out earlier this year, when – following the acquisition of Carter Aviation – Jaunt  caught the eye of Mark Moore, director of engineering at Uber Elevate. Jaunt’s unique rotor and wing design yields both high hover and cruise flight efficiency.

“We are pleased to be working with Uber as they have set the highest standards for safety, performance, and community acceptance which are inherent characteristics of our Jaunt aircraft design. Our partnership represents a significant leap in transforming on-demand aviation,” states Kaydon Stanzione, CEO Jaunt Air Mobility.
