It’s a wrap
One of the most striking images this week came from Protective Packaging Corp (PPC). The Dallas company has just wrapped a Sikorsky S-92 for Bristow. PPC has used flexible moisture barrier films to protect the helicopter from corrosion. Bristow does not need the aircraft.
The speed at which we have gone from one end of the spectrum to the other is hugely disturbing.
From just a couple of years ago when the oil and gas providers were forced to either time share helicopters or work a convoluted flight timetable due to the shortage of helicopters, we now have a situation where operators are packing up perfectly serviceable aircraft until the market recovers – good news for the storage industry, bad for everyone else.
Protective Packaging Corp guarantees that the wrapping will last for five years. Hopefully it will not be needed for that long.
