Flexjet S-76 stars at Palm Beach boat show as regional demand rises
A Flexjet Sikorsky S-76 helicopter is starring alongside multi-million-dollar superyachts at the Palm Beach International Boat Show, which starts tomorrow. Its appearance at the event comes as demand for rotary lift in the region is soaring, according to the fractional ownership and leasing firm.
“Demand for our helicopter service in Florida and the Bahamas is surging,” said Eli Flint, president, Flexjet’s helicopter division. “This event allows us to engage with people who want to learn more about the unique capabilities we provide.”
Yachting and private aviation are “a perfect duo,” he added. “The Palm Beach International Boat Show provides us with a unique opportunity to showcase our helicopters to a clientele that appreciates finely appointed cabins, dedicated crews and travel not limited by airport runways.”
FlexJet’s helicopters are offered as a complimentary service to the company’s aircraft owners for a limited number of airport transfers within service area. Sikorsky S-76s aircraft are often used as last-mile transportation from an airport to outdoor concerts, golf courses, polo fields, and car races, it said. Last November Flexjet launched helicopter flights from Florida to the Bahamas.
Capable of a maximum range of 300 nautical miles and an endurance of two hours and 30 minutes of flight time, Flexjet’s Sikorsky S-76 helicopters are said to be ideal for over-water flights from Florida to the Keys or The Bahamas’ Islands and Cays. In addition to helicopter services in South Florida and the Bahamas, the company offers on demand flights in New York, New England and the UK. Aircraft owners can also use their fractional shares to fly additional helicopter trips at a favorable interchange rate, said the company.
Its S-76s feature multiple redundancy measures, according to the fractional firm. Each aircraft is equipped with two certified pilots, dual autopilots, two engines, a four-blade rotor system and emergency floatation gear built into the helicopter.
Parked between Dock D and Dock E, near the Worth Avenue Yachts display, the super-midsize helicopter is available for viewing by show goers throughout the event.
The Palm Beach International Boat Show is taking place at West Palm Beach from March 21st to March 24th.
