French aerospace manufacturer Airbus reported financial results for the fiscal year 2024 wherein it reported an 8% year-over-year growth in revenue of €7.9bn ($8.24) from its helicopter segment owing to higher deliveries.

The year saw Airbus Helicopters delivering 450 units compared to 393 in FY23.

The company said that the segment’s revenue was further bolstered by “solid performance  as well as growth in services.”

Commenting on the company’s performance across all segments, CEO Guillaume Faury said: “We achieved strong order intake across all businesses in 2024, with a book-to-bill well above 1, confirming the solid demand for our products and services. We delivered on our 2024 guidance in what was a testing year for Airbus.”

Higher topline translated into better earnings-before-interest-and-taxes (EBIT) for the segment which grew 11%YoY to $854m.

End of the year results showed the company’s net order intake in units grew 15%YoY to 450 from 393 while also increasing by 17%YoY in value terms hitting $10.5bn. Similarly, the segment’s order book grew 11%YoY to 804 units while in value terms, it grew 12% to $25bn.

Fourth quarter shines

While the full-year numbers showed growth across all metrics, the company’s performance in the fourth quarter was much more pronounced. Revenues of $3.2bn, which grew by 15%YoY, accounted for nearly 40% of year’s total top line tally.

This growth translated into better margins as well as the company’s segment-wise EBIT showed 30%YoY growth to $415m.

On a cumulative basis, the company reported revenue of $72.2bn – with helicopter contributing 11% of that total – while reporting a lower year-over-year adjusted EBIT of $5.6bn.

In its outlook, Airbus said that assuming “no additional disruptions to global trade or the world economy, air traffic, the supply chain, the company’s internal operations, and its ability to deliver products and services,” it is targeting a $7.31bn in EBIT for consolidated operations.
