The CHC Brasil contracts will begin by the third quarter of this year.

CHC Helicopter’s Latin American business, CHC Brazil, has won two new contracts and an operational excellence award from oil company Petrobras.

The contracts are to support operations in Roncador, the offshore field in the Campos Basin, northeast of Rio de Janeiro. To fulfill the contracts, the operator will deploy two Sikorsky S92-A from Farol de São Tomé heliport – it’s fifth base of operations in Brazil. The five-year contracts will start by the third quarter of this year.

The addition of two Sikorsky S92A contracts to the CHC Brazil portfolio boosts its heavy aircraft fleet by 33%.

CHC Brasil also won the top provider for Operational Excellence in Offshore Transportation award from the state-owned energy company for the second consecutive year. The annual award celebrates superior operational and maintenance standards within the Brazilian offshore aviation sector.

The selection process included six competing companies subjected to a five-day audit. Three auditors appraised operational practices based on the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers’ 690 international standards, a leading benchmark for offshore aviation safety and operational integrity. CHC Brazil was awarded first place in the assessment.

Licia Rocha, CHC’s sales director – Latin America said:This recognition is a testament to the consistent high-quality standards and constant innovation within our entire team to deliver a best-in-class service. These two new contracts, coupled with this award recognising the quality of our offer, reflect the growing role CHC plays in delivering offshore operations in Brazil.”

Gilson Caputo, CHC’s operations director – Brazil said the operator prided itself in having the best S92A availability in the country. “By expanding the number of aircraft locally, we expect to reinforce our global flights standards in safety and operational excellence, maintaining our position as a global reference on S92A operations,” he said.

Meanwhile, last month CHC  Brasil said it had won “the largest tender in the history of offshore aviation in Brazil”.
