Heli Hires: OHI recruits Roberto Farnese as EVP Fleet

Omni Helicopters International (OHI) has appointed Roberto Farnese as the company’s executive vice president Fleet, starting on July 1st.

Farnese will devise Omni’s new fleet strategy to align with the operator’s efficiency, sustainability, and diversification objectives. Under his leadership, the Fleet team will be responsible for the acquisition of appropriate capacity and liaise with OEMs and financing partners on delivery, maintenance, technical and redelivery topics.

Jeremy Akel, group CEO, OHI said: “Roberto is a seasoned leader who has the right perspectives and insights to collaborate with the Omni Executive Leadership Team. We are fortunate that Roberto has agreed to join the Omni Team and look forward to his leadership, extending our unique positioning in Latin America.” 

Farnese has more than 18 years of experience in the air mobility sector, spanning from OEMs to lessors. His CV includes responsibility for commercial activities and leading regional teams in Europe and Americas to deliver business growth.

Farnese said: “I could not be more excited to join such an incredible team of people and to give my contribution to OHI’s continued growth and success.”

He holds both a Master of Science in Impact Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Massachusetts and a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and TU Delft in the Netherlands.

Meanwhile in February, the company revealed leadership changes at its Brazilian affiliate Omni Táxi Aéreo. Roberto Coimbra stepped down as CEO of Omni Táxi Aéreo to become board director at the OHI Group. Paulo Couto became the new CEO. In January, the company received  an Airbus H175 super-medium helicopter  (pictured) from lessor GDHF.
