Rotortrade has closed Indonesia’s first pre-owned helicopter sale of the year – a 2014 Bell 429 VIP aircraft (MSN 57241) to PT Whitesky Aviation.

Acquired in China in 2015, the aircraft had logged 380 flight hours due to slower-than-expected regulatory liberalisation in the region.

PT Whitesky Aviation signed the deal as part of its strategy to acquire under used assets, restore them to optimal condition and redeploy them in areas where operational demand is stronger. After acquiring the aircraft in 2023, Rotortrade said the Indonesian sale was completed “amid a period of economic stagnation and limited market activity in 2024”.

The deal with PT Whitesky was initiated in December 2024 and closed in April 2025, with delivery and reassembly completed the same month. The helicopter entered service in May 2025 following local registration.

The sale reflects Rotortrade’s ability to identify underused assets and redeploy them to areas of high operational demand,” said Aurélien Blanc, the company’s head of Region APAC (Asia Pacific). “Indonesia remains a key focus for Rotortrade and we are pleased to support PT Whitesky Aviation as they continue to expand their premium service offering.”

The Bell 429 acquisition marks a strategic enhancement of PT Whitesky Aviation’s VIP fleet and reinforces its commitment to delivering safe, premium helicopter services across Indonesia, said the company’s founder and CEO Denon Prawiraatmadja. “We appreciate the professionalism and responsiveness of all parties involved in this cross-border transaction,” he said. “This addition strengthens our operational readiness and our vision to connect more regions with elevated standards of service.”The transaction was led by Angelo Guarnera, Rotortrade’s sales manager for Indonesia and the Philippines, with technical oversight managed by Rotortrade APAC Team.

The sale included tailored payment terms to accommodate Indonesia’s evolving financial regulations and the operator’s capital requirements.
