Air Methods has opened a new base at Evanston Regional Hospital to provide emergency care for residents and visitors throughout southwestern Wyoming and north eastern Utah. This further expands the reach of Wyoming Life Flight’s critical care across the region. It joins sister Wyoming Life Flight bases in Casper where the program has both rotor wing and fixed wing bases, as well as AirLife Utah’s rotor wing bases in Brigham City and Lehi. Both programs are part of Air Methods.

The base operates air ambulance missions to respond to all time-sensitive medical events. The specialised crew is also equipped to provide critical care to maternity, high-risk obstetrics, and neonatal patients, which is vital in this region, cutting transport times in half compared to going by ground.

“We’re excited to bring the people of Uinta County and the surrounding areas faster access to advanced critical care,” said Air Methods account executive Erik Bornemeier. “Wyoming Life Flight is committed to being mission-ready whenever and wherever our services are needed, ensuring patients receive the highest level of care in their most critical moments.”

Wyoming Life Flight 3, which operates an AS350 helicopter, is equipped with advanced medical equipment and medications onboard, allowing it to function as a flying ICU.

“Having Wyoming Life Flight establish a permanent base on Evanston’s helipad is a tremendous benefit to our community,” said Bob Moore, interim CEO of Evanston Regional Hospital. “This collaboration will significantly reduce transfer times—often cutting them in half—helping patients experiencing emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, or high-risk obstetric situations receive timely, specialized care. We believe their presence will give our community added peace of mind, knowing that advanced air medical transport is available right here in Evanston.”

Air Methods is dedicated to serving communities across Wyoming, Utah, and beyond.
