CHC Helicopter has signed a new five-year contract with Petrobras to deliver emergency medical services (EMS) for offshore personnel in Brazil.

The dedicated service, which is CHC’s first EMS contract award in Brazil, will ensure workers requiring urgent medical attention are transported from offshore installations to onshore medical facilities.

Licia Rocha, sales director, Americas, CHC Helicopter, said: “Our team is proud to bring CHC’s world-class EMS capabilities to South America. This contract reflects the growing demand for integrated, high-quality medical transport services in offshore environments, and the strength of our partnership with Petrobras.

“We’re committed to supporting the health and wellbeing of offshore workers, delivering safe, reliable, and critical services in the minutes that matter most.”

Starting October 2027, CHC will operate a dedicated and specially configured AW139 from Cabo Frio Airport. The aircraft will feature two stretchers and advanced life support systems, enabling in-flight stabilisation and critical care for patients in transit.

CHC and Petrobras share a longstanding partnership. CHC currently provides crew change services across multiple offshore sites and was recently recognised, for the second-year running, as Petrobras’ top provider for Operational Excellence in Offshore Transportation.
