Airbus Helicopters promotes Matthieu Louvot to CEO

Airbus has promoted Matthieu Louvot to the role of CEO, Airbus Helicopters, effective from April 1st, 2026. Reporting to Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury, Louvot will join the company’s Executive Committee.
Currently executive vice-president Strategy for Airbus, Louvot, will succeed Bruno Even. In April Even will leave the manufacturer to pursue other projects.
Faury welcomed Louvot to his new role. “Our teams at Helicopters will benefit from the leadership of Matthieu, whose extensive experience in the helicopter industry and broad knowledge of the Division’s operational and strategic priorities will enable a smooth transition,” he said. “I wish him every success in the role and look forward to seeing Airbus Helicopters reach new heights under his lead.”
He went on to thank Even for his leadership at the helm of Airbus Helicopters over the past eight years. “Under his tenure, the Division expanded its product portfolio, transformed its industrial system and has been placed on a sustainable and profitable growth trajectory,” said Faury. “I respect Bruno’s decision to step down and explore new avenues for the next phase of his career.”
A graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale d’Administration in Strasbourg, France, Louvot started his career in the French administration, including as adviser for industry at the French Presidency.
Louvot joined Airbus Helicopters in 2010 where he held a number of management positions including executive vice president Customer Support & Services and executive vice president Programmes.
His replacement in the role of Airbus executive vice president Strategy role will be announced later.
