New Turbomeca TM800 engine to power Eurocopter X4

Turbomeca, part of the
Safran group, has announced that Eurocopter has selected the TM800 engine to power the new Eurocopter X4
helicopter. The Eurocopter X4 is a new generation 5 to 6-tonne helicopter
currently being developed by Eurocopter.

The engine development and
the certification plan are in line with the entry into service of the initial
version of the helicopter in 2017.
