The East Anglian Air Ambulance and the London Air Ambulance are participating at Helitech International, which is being held for the first time at London’s ExCeL centre from 24-26 September, in association with the European Helicopter Association.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance is a 365-day helicopter emergency medical service that can arrive anywhere within East Anglia within 25 minutes. The charity flies two EC135 aircraft from bases in Norwich and Cambridge airports and is the first and currently only air ambulance to be approved to fly night HEMS missions.

London’s Air Ambulance delivers an advanced trauma team to critically injured people in London, providing pre-hospital medical care to victims of serious injury, serving the 10 million people who live, work and commute within the M25.

Based at the Royal London Hospital and founded in 1989, the service is unique in that it operates 24/7, with the helicopter running in daylight hours and rapid response cars taking over at night.

John Hyde, Helitech International event director said: “We are proud to support both of these charities who provide vital life-saving air ambulance services to their local communities. The skill and dedication of all the medical teams in providing such high quality care is second to none and by supporting NAAW, Helitech International will provide a timely platform to help support these vital air ambulance services.”
