PennSTAR adds EC145 to fleet
PennSTAR operates an EMS fleet of seven helicopters that cover a 100-mile radius of University of Pennsylvania Health System.
PennSTAR has taken delivery of one Eurocpter EC145 for its air medical fleet. The new Eurocopter EC145 was purchased in 2012 and completed by Metro Aviation. The aircraft replaces a BK117 helicopter. The PennSTAR fleet consists of seven aircraft: five EC135s, one BK117 and the new EC145.
“We have evaluated and used other aircraft in our programme but keep coming back to American Eurocopter for the best solutions,” says Robert Higgins, flight team programme director, PennSTAR.
