Eagle 407HP helicopter receives Transport Canada certificate

Eagle Copters has received certification for its Eagle 407HP helicopter to be operated in Canada.

Transport Canada has issued a supplemental type certificate to Eagle Copters, this STC allows the company to replace the original Rolls-Rotce C47 turbine engine with a Honeywell HTS900 turbine engine.

The Eagle Copters conversion introduces and incorporates of a dual-channel FADEC engine control system into the helicopter.

“This announcement is particularly rewarding for us as a company since it represents the completion of a long and arduous journey. Although the certification basis is a Supplemental Type Certificate, the effort felt more like that of an OEM,” adds Whiting.

The company expects the FAA vadlidation soon and has begun taking firm orders for the conversion. It also expects other aviation authorities to valid the conversion.

Eagle Copters has been on business for 40 years, is a family owned comcern. In February 2013, the company released a short video at the beginning of the STC application progress.
