Medical transport organisation Life Link III takes CAMTS accreditatation

Life Link III the US-based the medical transport organisation has been awarded re-accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS) for both its rotor wing and fixed wing services. The Life Link III program includes its fixed wing base and six helicopter bases located in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Edward Eroe, president and chief executive of Life Link III, said: “We are pleased to once again receive full accreditation from CAMTS as it underscores Life Link III’s commitment to achieving the highest level of patient care and aviation safety standards in our industry. For our program, this translates to doing what’s best for the patient on every transport.”

As one of the largest hospital-based non-profit consortium programs in the United States, Life Link III has a 31-year history in improving patient care and transport safety. The CAMTS Accreditation Standards addressed issues of patient care and safety and each standard was supported by measurable criteria to measure a program’s level of quality.

Life Link III was set up in 1974, under the name of Bio Medical Research Associates. The original three consortium members included Abbott Northwestern Hospital, St. Paul Ramsey Medical Centre and the University of Minnesota. Today, nine healthcare organisations comprise the Life Link III consortium.
