New-York based helicopter booking platform Blade has partnered with American Airlines to provide airport transfers to and from JFK and LAX.

Blade offers airport transfers as part of its Blade BOUNCE service which offers direct rides to and from airport helipads and the runway. The service is also available at JFK, LGA, EWR, HPN and several private airports starting at $195 for empty leg seats on existing helicopter flights. The airport transfers will also be offered on American Airlines Five Star Service – its premium airport-transfer service.

Starting today, American Airline and Blade customers will be able to transfer from Blade lounges to the tarmac of American Airline flights.

Customers will be escorted from the airport’s helipad via Cadillac to the American Airlines check-in and to the airline’s Admirals Club lounge. From here they will be driven to the tarmac to board the flight.

The partnership will also offer rides from the jetway of your incoming flight to the nearest helicopter pad for a quick transfer to either Manhattan or Los Angeles city-centre.

Josh Gausman, co-founder and chief operating officer of The Private Suite said: “LAX is one of the busiest airports in the country. Now, American Airlines customers will be able to skip typical airport challenges by avoiding long lines at check-in and security and by being whisked across the airfield directly to their flight or to the exceptional Flagship First Dining. There aren’t many better ways to experience LAX—and soon JFK.”

Blade recently partnered with Sikorsky subsidiary AAG to operate an S76C+ aircraft on blades inter-city flights. Sikorsky has used the partnership to increase its footprint in the urban air-mobility market and is providing Blade access to AAG’s full fleet of Sikorsky aircraft.
