Luxaviation Helicopters has kicked off Heli Expo 2019 with the launch of a new global helicopter charter alliance – named the Luxaviation Charter Alliance.

The alliance brings together some of the biggest names in the VIP charter market including US operator HeliFlite, HeliAustria, Azur Helicoptere, PhilJets and the Luxaviation-owned Starspeed.

It will operate 70 helicopters across the world and provide a centralised hub for charter operators as well as helping open-up more destinations and opportunities for operators, brokers and clients.

Luxaviation’s CEO Charlotte Pederson invites other charter operators to join the alliance and expand its outreach. In Luxaviation Helicopter’s short life, it has shown itself keen to grow, striking partnerships with other helicopter charter operators across the globe.

Pedersen said: “Since launching Luxaviation Helicopters as the world’s first VIP helicopter charter company in 2017, we have always looked for ways to partner and work with operators in different regions to provide a truly global service.

“The launch of the Luxaviation Helicopters Charter Alliance takes this a step further, as approved members can call upon each other to unlock more of the world’s regions and open them up to their clients.”

Luxaviation first partnered with HeliFlite last year to boost its US presence – this marked Luxaviation’s first international partnership. The partnership allowed Luxaviation to start operating charter flights in New York, Chicago and Florida.

Kurt Carlson, CEO, HeliFlite, said: “We initially partnered with Luxaviation Helicopters at EBACE in 2018 and have enjoyed a fantastic relationship with them since then, significantly boosting our profile in Europe. We are delighted to be members of the mutually beneficial Luxaviation Helicopters Charter Alliance because it enables us to act as the worldwide aviation solution for our clients.

Luxaviation acquired the UK-based Starspeed in September 2017 – the first acquisition since it launched in February 2017. Since its launch, Luxaviation Helicopters has established its presence as one of the biggest names in the VIP charter market.

Pederson continued: “We are extremely excited to build on and develop the Luxaviation Helicopters Charter Alliance which provides clients with an assurance and confidence in safety standards. We look forward to welcoming more like-minded operators who have a commitment to quality and safety, and we are already speaking to other operators that we hope to confirm soon.”
