Milestone agrees lease agreements with HeliService for four helicopters
The Milestone Aviation Group has agreed the lease of four Leonardo helicopters to offshore helicopter operator HeliService International. The latest deal follows news of Milestone’s five-helicopter lease agreement with Saudi Arabian oil giant Aramco revealed earlier this week.
The latest lease agreements include the placement of two Leonardo AW139 helicopters. The first was delivered recently, with the second scheduled for delivery next month. Both aircraft will operate for HeliService’s offshore wind farm operations in the German Bight, the southeastern region of the North Sea.
Milestone also finalised a financing agreement for two new Leonardo AW169 helicopters to provide offshore services in support of wind projects in Taiwan. Both aircraft are slated for delivery in mid-year 2023.
Sebastien Moulin, head of Europe & Americas, Milestone Aviation welcomed HeliService as a new customer. “Offshore wind is an exciting growth area for helicopter leasing and we are delighted to be able to support HeliService as they expand their fleet and services,” said Moulin.
Oliver Freiland, CEO, HeliService said the Taiwanese offshore wind market is one of the key global growth markets for offshore wind. “Helicopters are a crucial element in meeting this growth in demand given the vital role they play in ensuring the maintenance of offshore wind turbines, particularly in the harsh sea conditions of Taiwan,” said Freiland.
Meanwhile, Milestone has also agreed a five-helicopter lease deal with Saudi Arabian oil giant Aramco. The deal includes the placement of three Leonardo AW139 helicopters and two Airbus H145 helicopters. The five new aircraft will be deployed on offshore oil and gas missions in Saudi Arabia, with deliveries scheduled to take place throughout this year.
