Offshore Helicopter Services UK has appointed Andy Rodden to the role of MD, starting in September and revealed a new North Sea contract.

Joining Offshore Helicopter Services from ETZ Offshore Renewables, Rodden brings 15 years’ experience running projects across the energy sector, As a company director, he has played a leading role in delivering, in partnership with Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult, the world’s first Floating Wind Innovation Centre.

Rodden also led the creation of an Energy Transition Skills Hub, aiming to quadruple the  training facilities at the NESCol campus in Altens Industrial Estate, near Aberdeen, Scotland. Both projects represent more than £15m of investment in the area.

Interim MD Martin Stubbs will join the company’s board and return to his role as director of Operations.

Shaun Roseveare, CEO, Ultimate Aviation Group, which owns Offshore Helicopter Services, said: “Andy brings with him considerable leadership qualities and the experience that can help drive OHSUK forward.” The business had a number of good contract wins recently, including the Apache deal (see below), demonstrating confidence in the firm’s operations, he added.

“Everyone across our sector is facing challenging market conditions, but our reputation for delivering high quality, reliable and safe service delivery has shone through,” said Roseveare.

Commenting on his appointment Rodden said: “It is a little over a year since Ultimate Aviation acquired OHSUK, and it is already clear to see the positive impact of the hard work undertaken by the team to transform the business. I’m hugely motivated to have the opportunity to progress my career and lead this dynamic business at the beginning of an exciting new chapter.”

Meanwhile, Offshore Helicopter Services UK also confirmed it had secured a multi-year contract to support Apache, flying Airbus H175 helicopters from Aberdeen to Beryl and Forties fields . Last year the company sealed a deal to extend its crew transfer contract with North Sea, mid-tier oil and gas company Serica Energy.
