Bell  names its new MD for the Middle East and Africa.

Bell  names Tim Evans as its new MD for the Middle East and Africa. Evans will drive the expansion of its Commercial Business in the region.

“I am honoured to take on the role of managing director for the Middle East and Africa and lead this professional, dynamic team,” said Tim Evans. “Bell has seen many successes in the region, including military trainer aircraft for the Royal Jordanian Air Force and the first Bell 429 for offshore operations in Cameroon. I look forward to building on all the great work in expanding Bell’s footprint in the region.”

Joining Bell in 2006, Evans has led various regional sales and marketing efforts, including overseeing operations in Africa, the Middle East and Eastern Europe. He also worked with Africair, Bell’s independent representative in the region and held various senior level positions involving government contracting and bid processes.

Recently Evans served as the director of Bell 525 business development, where he played a leading role in shaping the global strategy and business growth for the Bell 525. “With his support, the Bell team successfully secured Equinor as the aircraft’s first customer to sign a purchase agreement, paving the way for a new generation of aircraft for energy, search and rescue and government missions,” according to the company.

An update on the progress of the long-awaited Bell 525 Relentless was given last week by Robin Wendling, the manufacturer’s  new European MD, Commercial Business. “We are nearing the final tests and working through certification efforts with the FAA. We’ll have more information to provide soon,” said Wendling at European Rotors.

“We are also working closely with EASA and additional regulatory authorities to ensure smooth validation efforts following the FAA certification. Bell feels confident in the capabilities the aircraft will bring to the European market.”

Bell names Tim Evans as its MD for the Middle East and Africa, after last month appointing Wendling as its new Europe MD.
